Chocolate Chunk Cookies
 
 
Ingredients
  • 2½ cups unbleached all purpose flour
  • ¾ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 8 oz unsalted butter, cold, cut into pieces
  • ¾ cup packed light brown sugar
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 1½ teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 14-15 oz chopped, good quality chocolate
Instructions
  1. Stir together the flour, baking soda and salt; set side.
  2. Beat cold butter until creamy in bowl.
  3. Add both sugars and continue beating for 4-5 minutes.
  4. Add the vanilla.
  5. Add the eggs, and beat until just mixed.
  6. With mixer on lowest speed or by hand, add dry ingredients.
  7. Add chocolate chips and stir to mix.
  8. Arrange cookie balls on ungreased cookie sheets spacing about 3 inches apart.
  9. Bake at 350 degrees F for 12-15 minutes. Check often, time will vary depending on dough sizes.
  10. Edges should be golden brown.
